We are the data controller for the information described below.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you provide it, and the contents of your order. Payment card details go directly to our payment processors — we never receive or store them.
When you subscribe: your email address, via Substack.
When you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and which pages you viewed. This comes from Squarespace's built-in analytics and from cookies.[
When you contact us: whatever you include in your message.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To fulfil your order — take payment, ship it, handle returns and support. Necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To send you email you asked for — with your consent, withdrawable at any time.
- To understand how the site is used — our legitimate interest in running and improving the business.
- To meet tax and accounting obligations — required by law.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.
Who we share it with
Only service providers who need it to do their job:
- Squarespace — website hosting, store, and order management
- Stripe, PayPal, Klarna — payment processing
- Substack — email newsletter
- Shipping carriers and customs authorities — delivery and international clearance
- Print and fulfilment partners — producing and dispatching orders
Each has its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies for essential functions like your cart and session, and for basic analytics. You can refuse non-essential cookies through the banner on your first visit, or block them in your browser. Essential cookies can't be turned off without breaking the store.
How long we keep it
Order records for seven years, as tax law requires. Email subscribers until you unsubscribe. Analytics data per Squarespace's retention settings.
Where your data goes
We are based in the United States and our service providers are primarily US-based. If you order from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection standards than your own country.
Where we transfer personal data out of the EU or UK, we rely on the safeguards offered by our processors, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete it, where we're not required to keep it
- give you a copy in a portable format
- stop using it for a particular purpose
You can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any message.
If you're in the EU or UK, these rights come from GDPR and UK GDPR, and you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. If you're in California, you have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know and the right to delete, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
We'll update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced on the site.
